An urban design concept has been developed to connect commuters and the local community to South Australia's distinctive seasonal movement, landscapes and forms. This vision aims to be more than a motorway – offering functional and thoughtful open spaces along the alignment.
The functional design is largely finalised. However, there are still some aspects of the urban design to be completed. For example, selecting community amenities and playground facilities, street furniture and landscaping plans. Community and key stakeholders will be able to provide feedback into these aspects as they progress.
The Urban Design Strategy outlines an overarching urban design vision, urban design principles and objectives. It applies corridor-wide to all works in the T2D Project, regardless of nature, scale or location.
The strategy was informed by:
government policies and strategies
local area analysis
best practice project benchmarking
community and stakeholder engagement.
