Project assessment report
Welcome to the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project Assessment Report (PAR).
The Project Assessment Report (PAR) outlines how we intend to deliver the project to get the best result for our community, environment and economy. It seeks to broaden community and stakeholder understanding of the final stage of the North-South Corridor project and seeks your feedback to support the continued development of the Project Design.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) is committed to delivering sustainable infrastructure, transport and programs that carefully balance economic, environmental and social needs and outcomes.
For this reason, the Department has developed this PAR for the T2D Project to understand and minimise the potential environment, heritage and social impacts from construction and operational activities, while maximising environmental and social outcomes to deliver lasting benefits to the community.
The PAR details the impact assessments undertaken on the Project Design as of December 2022. This iteration of the design includes the key design developments from 2010 to 2022. Since this time, further design refinement has and will continue to occur.
The formal consultation period on the PAR occurred across the five week period between 5 March and 9 April 2024. The valuable information and local insights received during this consultation are being considered by the project team and will inform the ongoing planning and design refinement of the T2D Project.
The T2D Project recognises the importance of community and stakeholder consultation. While the formal period of consultation on the PAR has closed, the T2D Project will continue to consult and engage with the community on this important project as its design continues to be refined and as construction begins.
